OC Global Alliance Diaspora Ministry and Resources
What is diaspora?
It refers to the dispersion of a group of people from their original homeland to another place, often due to persecution, war, or migration. This includes refugees, immigrants, international students, foreign workers, seasonal workers, etc.
The word "diaspora" originates in ancient Greece, where it was used to refer to colonizers of conquered countries and it is used in the New Testament to refer to the Jews who were scattered among the nations (Jn. 7:35, James 1:1, 1 Peter 1:1).
Once upon a time we had to travel across the world to meet and engage with people from different ethnic groups or cultures, but today we see this beautiful diversity right outside our front door.
Within the OC Global Alliance, we have many expressions of diaspora ministry worldwide. Here we will feature some of the work we are doing, the resources we are using, and opportunities for you or your church to engage in this growing area of ministry with us.
